The Power of Meditation

I want to share my story of why I so strongly believe in the power of meditation and the clear link between the mind and the body.

I was in a sad lonely stressful marriage for many years. There was an incident one day that told me that the marriage was not fixable. However, at the time, my children were still young and I simply could not bear to leave them. So I stayed.

Over time, the stress, anxiety and loneliness took it's toll on my body. I gained weight, my stomach was constantly upset, my joints ached and I developed a rash across my abdomen. I had to do something.

I put on headphones, turned on a guided meditation, and went for a walk. I was so ready for change, that I was able to really let go and be guided to a place of peace, calm, and restoration. My stomach pain and rash were gone the next day.

I have done a walking meditation nearly every day since. Meditation has gotten me through a messy divorce, teenage children, and two new jobs (including three new electronic medical record systems, ugh) with grace and ease-mostly :) .

I can feel the difference in my mind, my body and my nervous system aka my gut. It is truly transformative.

I hope you give the power of meditation a try. I have linked one of my favorites below.
